Established in 1996, drillers.com is the oldest oil and gas website in the world. Previously known as the Drillers Research Institute (DRI), it has always provided far more than just job opportunities.
The website has a fully interactive mathcad section, where you can calculate drilling measurements free of charge. You can access that here.
There is also a regular blog, that is carefully edited and fact checked. Now, we only allow bona fide industry workers to post there. We believe that there are too many bloggers and armchair analysts that can muddy the water on such an important topic.
drillers.com also has a partners and experts program. We're working on a skill pool database and elite worker resource. This will help facilitate the on-demand labour model which has always featured in oil and gas, but is likely to continue to be a bigger factor in a cost conscious 'lower for longer' oil price environment.
Steve Devereaux created the website and nurtured it over the years. His friend and colleague Dave Taylor took over the reins in 2015.
Dave is the founder of Relentless Pursuit of Perfection Ltd which is a coaching and advisory company for drilling teams. Dave performs DWOPs and CWOPs for some of the largest oil companies in the world. He helps them save days, weeks, and millions of dollars in efficiency enhancements to their drilling programs.
In the group of companies/websites is also SPREAD which is a tecnhical forum for drilling professionals. It's more than a decade old, and with 2000+ members from hundreds of oil companies. Experts get together to solve engineering challenges, this is a free to use forum, and is managed by Dave as a gift back to the industry that has given him a good life.
