Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

On this day we will do a game drive around the crater and stop for a picnic lunch at a small lake within the crater. Due to the presence an “oasis” created in the crater, there is a high possibility of discovering some members of ‘THE BIG 5’. The BIG 5 comprises lion, elephant, the leopard, the rhino and buffalo. Within a Crater you will view the zebra, hippo, wildebeest and cackling hyenas. In addition, there are flocks of flamingos along the Soda Lake, while hawks and vultures circle the sky in search their next meal of discarded carcass. Beautiful storks, ibis, and cranes are popular water birds in the Ngorongoro Crater. You will be able to see many of most well-known animals like BIG FIVEs, especially the tree-climbing lions, acacia trees which you may need to take photograph. When arriving in Tarangire we will begin experiencing the different mounds and the ancient baobab trees. There are animal sightings of lions, giraffe, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetah, mongoose, buffaloes, and mischievous baboons. After discovering and observing the wildlife in Tarangire National Park we will continue our drive to our next package step to Ngorongoro Crater. Take a rest, shower, overnight and dinner at your accommodation.

Pick up at 7:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. Tanzania’s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. Post the game drive, you will head back to your camp/lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.

Day 2

Transfer to Ndutu

We start around 7:00 AM and head towards the Ndutu region. The drive to Ndutu is about 4 hours from Tarangire or about 2.5 hours from Karatu. During game drives between December and April, you will be able to see the great migration in this region. Between Mid Jan and Feb, calving happens here and it attracts hordes of predators prying on vulnerable young wildebeest. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs and Lions are found in plenty. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. Post the game drive, you will head back to your lodge to reach before 6:00 PM where a delicious dinner awaits you.

Day 3

As you enter the national park, lush forests of Acacia and Mahogany trees begin to set the mood for what is waiting ahead. The game drive will go on till afternoon with a small break for picnic lunch. During the game drive watch out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons and the blue monkeys. Another spectacle of Lake Manyara National park is the tree climbing lions, however spotting them is a game of luck. After breakfast, around 8:00 AM we start the 2 hour drive to Materuni which is located under the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, you will do a 35 minutes hike to the waterfalls. If weather is clear, we might get decent views of Mt Kilimanjaro this day. Make sure to wear good boots as the trail can be often muddy. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is a good place for a refreshing swim after the hike. 25-minute hike back from the waterfalls afterward you will join a local tribe with whom you will a enjoy delicious Swahili/Chagga lunch. After lunch, you will explore the coffee-making process and get to processes your own cup of coffee. Later you will be driven either back to the hotel in Arusha or to the airport. Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National Park

We will take the scenic journey to Serengeti, allowing for an amazing, bird’s-eye-view of Ngorongoro Crater. We will enjoy a leisurely game drive in the morning and have a picnic lunch near a pond full of hippos inside the Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater drive visitors can definitely expect to encounter zebra, hippo, wildebeest and cackling hyenas, home to flocks of graceful flamingos gathering at Soda Lake, vultures and hawks eagerly circling the sky in search of a meal of discarded carcasses. You will kickstart your day after a delicious breakfast, by about 8AM. The destination for today is the Ndutu region which is a 3hr drive from your accommodation in Karatu.After about an hour commencing the drive, you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Ngorongoro) where you will notice the landscape changing from hilly forests to plain and green grasslands as you drive further.Once you reach Ndutu you will begin your day game drive with a convenient stop for your picnic lunch. Sweeping grasslands of the Ndutu cover the region which gradually fade into the Serengeti.Ndutu forms a part of the route for the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeests and thousands of zebra, antelope and gazelle. During game drives at the right season between December and April, you will be able to see the fertile plains turn into calving grounds and nursery for the great migration.The calving season attracts hordes of predators preying on vulnerable young wildebeest. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive. Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. Today you will be following the migration depending on its location. Ndutu (South Serengeti) to Central Serengeti

The excitement for today will be quite high as you make your way into the most celebrated wildlife park in the world – The Serengeti. After finishing up a good breakfast, you will head out towards the Serengeti National Park and travel in the midst of the never ending plain grasslands.Serengeti, means endless plains in the local African language and watching the grassland stretch out as far as the eye can see and eventually merging with the sky at the horizon is an absolutely breathtaking view.With an overall land area of 14,763 Sq Kms, It puts our notion about distance to shame. The Serengeti also houses the glorious “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard). Along with the “Big 5”, a very pleasant sighting would be one of Africa’s most beautiful animals – The Impala.The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa. You must also look out for the Serengeti “Kopjes” which are massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass. Central Serengeti

You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive. Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. You will explore the central portion of the Serengeti National Park today. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti - known as Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. During the off season of the migration, one must really look out for the many lion pride that thrive in this region. The interactions and survival of these lion pride provide an excellent game viewing experience all year round. Along with a picnic lunch during the full day game drive, the day will come to a close by around 5PM. The long day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.

Day 7

Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Later depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area with picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world and fourteen kilometers of isolated natural beauty. Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor, dotted with watering holes, shelters some 30,000 animals. Ngorongoro Crater Tour (5 Hours) to Arusha

After an early breakfast, descend to the crater floor for game drive(5 hours). You can expect to see lions, elephants, Zebras, Hippos, Flamingos, Jackals, Rhinos Antelopes and many birds. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. We will have a lunch break at a picnic scenic picnic spot. Post lunch, we will continue with game drives till around 5:00 PM or so and after the game drive, we will drive to accommodation. Dinner and overnight at this lodge.

After breakfast, we checkout from hotel around 9:00 AM and head towards Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After driving for about couple of hours, we Leave Ngorongoro highlands behind, and descend into dusty plains of Ngorongoro while passing next to Maasai villages. Around 1:00 PM, we reach the gate of the Serengeti National Park. After lunch, we check into park and head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti's species. We do an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park till around 5:30 PM and proceed for overnight at Tukaone camps or similar.

After an early breakfast, descend to the crater floor for game drive(5 hours). You can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, hyenas, Jackals, rhinos and many birds. The birds seen here include eagle, vulture, flamingos in the Crater Lake, storks, giant vulture,and many more. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. With a 3.5 hr drive left to your accommodation in Arusha, the day will come to a close. Freshly made delicious dinner will be ready for you at your accommodation. All these days of the safari, will have you quite tired and a good rest is essential. You will also bid farewell to your safari guide and vehicle today as last leg of your tour will be done with a different vehicle (toyota alphard or similar) and driver. Visit to Materuni falls, chagga tribe and coffee plantation tour and drop at Arusha or Kili airport. End of tour.

After breakfast, around 8:00 AM we start the 2 hour drive to Materuni which is located under the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, you will do a 35 minutes hike to the waterfalls. If weather is clear, we might get decent views of Mt Kilimanjaro this day. Make sure to wear good boots as the trail can be often muddy. Day 4

Northern Serengeti National Park to Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game drive at the Mara River viewing the great migration river crossing and game driving. In the evening, back to your hotel for the dinner and overnight. River crossings at Kogatende start to occur every day in August as the mega herd settles into the area. From July & August, game viewing up here is superb with river crossings pretty much guaranteed every day. There is no distinct movement as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river, following the rains and subsequent fresh grasses. It is not uncommon to see different herds crossing in different directions on the same day.

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Day 6

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha/Moshi

After an early morning breakfast, you will decent 600 meters down to the Ngorongoro crater floor for a wonderful game drive. Ngorongoro Crater referred by many as the 8th wonder of the world and the Eden of Africa. It is a home of a larger number of animal species. Supported by yearly availability of water supply from the crater rim thus allows the vegetation to flourish and attracts big and small animals which includes buffalo, zebra hippos, rhino, elephant and cats like lion, leopard, cheetah, jackals and hyenas. Day 3

Lake Manyara National Park to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast in the morning, you will start your journey to Serengeti National Park with game drives and reach Naabi Gate. After registration and other park necessities you will start your first game drives in Central Serengeti. Serengeti is the most amazing place and it is the one of the world’s wildlife sanctuaries. The endless plains of Serengeti are of about 14 763 square kilometers and the plains are accommodating the Migration herds estimated to be of over 1.5 million of wildebeests, Zebras and Thomson gazelle. From December and March, the herds are on the Southern Serengeti at around Lake Ndutu and Salei plains where breeding and nursing takes place. July & August, will be on Northern Serengeti start crossing Mara River on their way to Masai Mara in Kenya. Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

The second day’s hike bring you through the steep path along the ridge of the saddle. Amazing view of the Mount Meru Crater, the ash cone and little Meru Peak can be seen along the way. While hiking through the forest keep your eyes peeled for wildlife and the amazing wild flowers. Common animals include buffaloes, the black and white Colobus Monkey. Your hike will end up at Saddle Hut where you will be spending the night. After resting at the camp, you will set off on an hour acclimatization hike to Little Meru, then head back down to Saddle Hut.

Day 3

Saddle Hut to Summit to Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate

We start early in the morning at least at around 7:30 am to hike steeply to Rhino Point to Cobra Point. We reach the Mount Meru summit (4566 m) on time for sunrise. There is a possibility to see the Mount Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. The final part of the hike is along a spectacular narrow ridge line between the sheer inner cliffs and the sloping outer wall of the crater. We take a short rest and brunch at Saddle Hut before continuing the descent to the Miriakamba Hut and lastly to Momella Gate. The returning transfer to Arusha/Moshi will be waiting at Momella Gate and will bring you back to your accommodation.

Nairobi to Masai Mara

Your tour starts with pick up at 7:30 AM from your Nairobi hotel or Airport and drive to Masai Mara. This drive will take about 5 to 6.5 hours with a scenic stopover at Great Rift Valley. Arrive in Masai Mara shortly after noon and check into your lodge/camp, have hot lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive.

After the game drive, we head back to lodge/camp to reach by around 5:30 or 6:00 PM, freshen up and enjoy a freshly prepared Dinner. Overnight at your lodge.

Note: The last 1-hour drive to Masai Mara is on the corrugated and bumpy road and may not be comfortable for clients with back problems. Clients with back problems can consider flying directly to (and out of) Masai Mara.

Day 2

Masai Mara

Today's itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today's schedule.

You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (This is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. you will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Around 6:00 PM return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru

Around 10:00 AM after a relaxed breakfast checkout and Depart to Lake Nakuru National Park which is about 6.5 hours drive. Upon reaching Nakuru lodge check in, have dinner and relax for the day.

Note 1: A short morning game drives in Masai Mara can be done on day 3 by paying extra USD 85 PP. Note: Depending on your itinerary and next day plan, you might skip these activities on this day and do them next morning before departing from Naivasha.

Nairobi to Masai Mara

Your tour starts with pick up at 7:30 AM from your Nairobi hotel or Airport and drive to Masai Mara. This drive will take about 5 to 6.5 hours with a scenic stopover at Great Rift Valley. Arrive in Masai Mara shortly after noon and check into your lodge/camp, have hot lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive.

Day 2

Masai Mara

Today's itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today's schedule.

You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (This is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. you will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Around 6:00 PM return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha

After a relaxed breakfast around 10:00 AM checkout and Depart to Lake Naivasha which is about 5 hours drive

Day 5

Amboseli

After breakfast, depart for morning game drives around 7:00 AM and continue till about 10:30 AM. Return back to camp to relax and have lunch and then in the afternoon around 3:00 PM proceed for afternoon game drives for 3 hours and return to camp before 6:30 PM.

Note:Since Amboseli is relatively hot, game drives around noon are not usually recommended but can be arranged if you are interested.

Day 6

Amboseli to Nairobi

Overview of Masai Mara National Reserve: The Masai Mara National Reserve is a renowned wildlife conservation area located in southwestern Kenya. It is part of the larger Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, known for its exceptional biodiversity and the annual Great Migration of wildebeest, zebras, and other herbivores. The reserve covers an area of approximately 1,510 square kilometers and is home to a wide variety of wildlife species, including the “Big Five” - lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceroses.

Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara

Your tour starts with pick up at 7:30 AM from your Nairobi hotel or Airport and drive to Masai Mara. This drive will take about 5 to 6.5 hours with a scenic stopover at Great Rift Valley. Arrive in Masai Mara shortly after noon and check into your lodge/camp, have hot lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive.

After the game drive, we head back to lodge/camp to reach by around 5:30 or 6:00 PM, freshen up and enjoy a freshly prepared Dinner. Overnight at your lodge.

Note: The last 1-hour drive to Masai Mara is on the corrugated and bumpy road and may not be comfortable for clients with back problems. Clients with back problems can consider flying directly to (and out of) Masai Mara.

Day 2-5

Masai Mara

Today's itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today's schedule.

You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (This is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. you will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Around 6:00 PM return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6

Masai Mara to Nairobi

After a relaxed breakfast head back to Nairobi. On reaching Nairobi in the evening, you will be dropped of at the airport or your hotel.

Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to Masai Mara. The flight takes approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival in Masai Mara, you will be met by a representative from the camp and transferred to your accommodation. After a brief check-in, you will embark on an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara

Your tour starts with pick up at 7:30 AM from your Nairobi hotel or Airport and drive to Masai Mara. This drive will take about 5 to 6.5 hours with a scenic stopover at Great Rift Valley. Arrive in Masai Mara shortly after noon and check into your lodge/camp, have hot lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive.

After the game drive, we head back to lodge/camp to reach by around 5:30 or 6:00 PM, freshen up and enjoy a freshly prepared Dinner. Overnight at your lodge.

Note : The last 1-hour drive to Masai Mara is on the corrugated and bumpy road and may not be comfortable for clients with back problems. Clients with back problems can consider flying directly to (and out of) Masai Mara.

Day 2

Masai Mara

Today's itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today's schedule.

You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (This is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. you will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Around 6:00 PM return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru

After a relaxed breakfast and around 10:00 AM checkout and Depart to Lake Nakuru National Park which is about 6.5 hours drive. Upon reaching Nakuru lodge check in, have dinner and relax for the day.

Note 1 : Effective from 1st November 2023, our 2024 prices have been updated to reflect the revised park fees for Masai Mara (USD 100 from Jan to Jun and USD 200 from Julyy to Dec).

Note 2 : Morning game drives in Masai Mara can be added on the last morning at the park by paying additional park fees.

Note 3 : Depending on your itinerary, location of lodge in Nakuru and plan for the next day(if going to Amboseli for example), we might skip morning game drives in Masai mara this day and proceed to Nakuru directly to reach by around 2:00 PM and do afternoon game drives in Nakuru.

Day 4

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

After early breakfast, proceed to Nakuru for morning game drives and continue till around noon. Post lunch, proceed to Lake Naivasha and proceed with boat ride in Lake Naivasha and hike in crescent island before heading to your Naivasha accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Lake Naivasha to Amboseli

After breakfast, depart to Amboseli which is about 5.5 hours drive. Upon arrival, check-in to lodge, have lunch and start your afternoon safari in Amboseli. You can do game drives till about 6:00 PM before returning to your camp/lodge for a freshly prepared dinner. Overnight stay at your Camp/Lodge.

Day 6

Amboseli

After breakfast, depart for morning game drives around 7:00 AM and continue till about 10:30 AM. Return back to camp to relax and have lunch and then in the afternoon around 3:00 PM proceed for afternoon game drives for 3 hours and return to camp before 6:30 PM

Note : Since Amboseli is relatively hot, game drives around noon are not usually recommended but can be arranged if you are interested.

Amboseli to Nairobi

The 7-day itinerary covering Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Lake Naivasha offers a diverse and enriching experience of Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes. This journey typically starts in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, and then proceeds to the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve, known for its abundant wildlife and the Great Migration spectacle. From there, travelers usually visit Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos and rhino sanctuary, before heading to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake surrounded by picturesque scenery.

Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara

Your tour starts with pick up at 7:30 AM from your Nairobi hotel or Airport and drive to Masai Mara. This drive will take about 5 to 6.5 hours with a scenic stopover at Great Rift Valley. Arrive in Masai Mara shortly after noon and check into your lodge/camp, have hot lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive.

After the game drive, we head back to lodge/camp to reach by around 5:30 or 6:00 PM, freshen up and enjoy a freshly prepared Dinner. Overnight at your lodge.

Note : The last 1-hour drive to Masai Mara is on the corrugated and bumpy road and may not be comfortable for clients with back problems. Clients with back problems can consider flying directly to (and out of) Masai Mara.

Day 2-4

Masai Mara

Today's itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today's schedule.

You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (This is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. you will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Around 6:00 PM return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru

After a relaxed breakfast and around 10:00 AM checkout and Depart to Lake Nakuru National Park which is about 6.5 hours drive. Upon reaching Nakuru lodge check in, have dinner and relax for the day.

Day 6

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

After early breakfast, proceed to Nakuru for morning game drives and continue till around noon. Post lunch, proceed to Lake Naivasha accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Lake Naivasha to Nairobi

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride to Crescent Island where you will be doing a nature walk next to zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, waterbucks, antelopes and many types of birds. Return by boat to Naivasha for lunch at your lodge and then proceed to Nairobi.

Optional Add-on Tours : You can choose to go to Hell's gate national park near Naivasha where you can do hiking, bicycle riding and other activities at additional cost.

We will reroute the itinerary such that you cover all the parks included in the original itinerary with the same choice of accommodations & same number of nights as included in the original itinerary. This is called a Fly-in Safari.

Lake Nakuru to Nairobi
