Sai Educational Rural & Urban Development Society (SERUDS) is a regd Charitable Nonprofit Organization in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh, India working since 2003 through its programs focused on disadvantaged children (orphanage, sponsoring education, street children), elders (Joy Old Age Home, sponsoring cooked meals and groceries), and Women (livelihood training).

SERUDS is focused on :
- Rehabilitating and providing education, shelter and food to economically backward, child labourers, disabled, orphans and semi-orphans.
- Sensitizing destitute women and adolescent girls for their rights & entitlements.
- Women Empowerment and promoting SHGs.
- Sponsoring midday meals and groceries for old age groups, to enable them to get timely food.
- Providing relief and rehabilitation to the victims of Natural Calamities like floods and droughts.
- Encouraging adult education among rural masses and slum dwellers.
- Working for persons with disability.

Sponsor a Child in Orphanage

SERUDS started JoyHome Orphanage in Kurnool in December 2012. Today the Children’s Home shelters 60 boys and girls in the age group of 4 to 16 years. These abandoned orphan, street children come from different family backgrounds like a father who died of AIDS, mother who committed suicide, alcoholic father and mother left children and is living with other person, or both parents died. In this critical juncture These kids were found by Seruds in streets or volunteers brought the children to SERUDS Children Home. We believe that if these children are not taken care of they may become anti-social. We have rescued them and provided a safe shelter, education support, counseling and extracurricular activities like sports and games.

You are welcome to sponsor these abandoned orphan children for their education or living expenses. If you are not in Kurnool, you can send your friends to our Children Home to spend time with these kids. The children will feel that someone cares about their future and feel happy.

Donors are free to contribute any amount as desired, which will be utilized for the running of orphanage. You can celebrate your special day with the children, sponsor health care or sponsor annual expenses for a specific child. Profiles of these children and other funding options are available below.

Non Resident Indians (NRIs) who Sponsor a Child in Andhra Pradesh for education in our Children Orphanage, they can send their parents, family friends to the Orphanage to see the children and satisfy themselves about our transparency & accountability. We would be happy to receive them here.

Seruds NGO is proud to announce that we have reached one more new milestone with the launch of Happy Old Age Home for neglected destitute elderly persons. The residents have been identified from different village of Kurnool and Mahaboob Nagar Districts, Hyderabad of Andhra Pradesh, India. Currently twenty elderly women are sheltered in the home.

At SERUDS Home for the Aged, we have adopted good practices in order to provide a healthy, productive and participatory life to the elderly women residents.

The caregivers who are always available, and encouragement of a support system among residents to make them more self-sufficient help to dispel lack of self worth, loneliness and helplessness. The children from our orphanage often visit the home to share snacks, play games, or talk with the grannies. This initiative engenders a feeling of community and joy in living among both the orphans and elder.

There is space for pooja for daily prayers and all major festivals are celebrated. The women are motivated to keep themselves busy with activities like reading, regular walks, singing bhajans, and more.
