ShipsGo is a container tracking platform and its mission is to organize the container shipping industry's information and make it universally accessible and useful to all parties in the container shipping industry. We have mainly two digital tools for the industry for now: live container tracking and port-port route finder services.

How can I receive status information of my container?

You can get status information of your container by using our track shipment module which is available on our website. First of all, you need to fill boxes titled “Container Number” and “E-mail Address”. After filling the form, click the “track shipment” button. Then your container tracking request is going to reach us. We are going to send a notification mail in few minutes to the e-mail/s you entered the form. If you confront any technical problems, please do not hesitate to use our live chat or contact us. Can I track my container with BL number?

You can track your container in two ways. The first is to track with container number and the second is to track with B/L number. Only our package users can use BL option. Log in to your account. Click the "bl option" section after clicking the "Track New Shipment" section in your panel and fill the boxes. It is not necessary to enter all container numbers in your BL. Our system requires only one container number when you use the B/L option. Enter any container number in your B/L in the “BL Container Number” box then enter a number of containers that your BL contains and finally enter BL Number. If you would like to only track the container that you enter in the “BL Container Number” box and are not interested in any information about other containers please enter “1” in “BL Container Count”. In this way, you are going to receive status information of only this "1" container even if there are, for instance, 8 containers in BL. QUICK CASE a. Do you provide API service for container tracking?

Yes, we provide API service for container tracking. Thanks to ShipsGo API Service, your website/IT system and our container tracking API works integrated. The API service has a sample of HTML and PHP codes created for web use. There is a sample code for the "Console Application Project" as well. If you are not good at integrating Api enough, please ask your IT department to integrate these codes into your website. What kind of notifications do I get when I track a container?

After sending a tracking request, ShipsGo sends various notifications to e-mail addresses of its users in order to keep them up-to-date about their shipments. These notification are sailing notification, delay notifications, on-time arrival notice, container release alert, and container gate out confirmation. Sailing notification: When users send tracking request for the first time they receive a standardizing, easy to understand email which provides all information related to their shipment such as status of the shipment, the name of the port of loading, the name of the port of discharge, the name of the transhipment port/s, the arrival and departure date of the ports, the total transit time, the name of the vessel, the name of shipping line and the live position of the vessel. ShipsGo sends this notification two times during the shipment's voyage. First, when the user requests information for his/her shipment via the tracking tool for the first time and second, the day in which the vessel arrives port of discharge. Delay notification: After the voyage of the shipment is completed ShipsGo sends an e-mail to its users which says how many days their shipment delayed. The name of this mail is delay notification. ShipsGo calculates delay as follow; We record the estimated time of arrival(ETA) which shipping line declares officially then compares it to the actual time of arrival(ATA). The difference between ATA and ETA is the delay. On-time arrival notice: If the differences between first ETA and ATA are zero then it means the shipment arrived at the destination port on time. Then, ShipsGo reports this to its user by mail and the name of this mail is “on-time arrival notice.” Container release alert: After a container is discharged at the port of discharge then it should be released from the port at a specific period of time by the responsible party. Otherwise, the party who is responsible for the organizing of land transportation had to pay extra fees to the port or the shipping line. If the container hasn't released from the ports, ShipsGo sends its users a container release alert and reminds them that the container hasn’t gated out from the port of discharge yet. Container gate out confirmation: ShipsGo records the gate out dates which are officially declared by the shipping line. When the gate out date ripe ShipsGo reminds its user that his/her container is released from the discharging port. The name of this reminder is container gate out confirmation. If a ShipsGo user would like to send these notifications to the party who is a part of the voyage it is also possible. The only thing they should do is to add emails addressed of these parties to their tracking request. In this way, the system sends emails to all parties. The user's main e-mail will be in the "to" section and the rest of them will be in the "bcc" section. Last but not least, It is also possible to make e-mail customization to send all notifications via a server and from your related e-mail address. ( it takes approximately 5 minutes to set it on your dashboard ).

How does ShipsGo calculate estimated time of arrival(ETA) of my shipment?

ShipsGo algorithm saves the first ETA at the booking stage than updates current ETA if any change occurs. You can find a variation on your dashboard. Besides, if our algorithm realizes an extraordinary transit time ( while comparing transit time with old data and current schedule ) send you a notification in order to contact the carrier to make situation your container clear. Because, sometimes containers would have extraordinary transit times due to specific reasons such as carrier system problem, TS port vessel allocation problem...etc.

Does your API provide actual or estimate dates of my shipments' move?

With our tracking service API, you get the estimated time of arrivals(ETA), the actual time of arrivals(ATA), estimated time of sailing(ETS) and the actual time of sailing(ATS) of your shipments. Here is the simple way to understand the data you get is actual or estimated. You get status-related data by API. There are sailing status and request status. The key factor here is sailing status: If the sailing status of your shipment is booked, all of the dates' data are estimated. However, if the sailing status is sailing then the departure date is actual, the arrival date is estimated. If the sailing status is discharged then all of the dates are actual.

Yes. Thanks to our Live Map feature you can see the vessel that your container is carried on. By using Live Map; you can reach information about loading and discharging ports, the arrival date of the vessel, the shipping line and the vessel name as well.
