Turn left on the mountainside and after about an hour you reach Barafu Hut. The last stop on the route is the Karanga Valley, as Camp Barafu has no water. Barafu is the Swahili word for "ice" and is a dark and inhospitable camping area to spend the night. Completely exposed to the common gales, the tents are set up on a narrow, rocky and treacherous ridge. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the terrain before dark to avoid any accidents. The peak is currently over 1345m high and you will reach the last peak on the same night of the same day. Prepare your gear, ski poles, and thermal clothing for your summit effort. This includes replacing your headlights and camera batteries and making sure you have a spare as well. To avoid freezing, you should transport water in an insulated bottle. DAY 5: BARAFU - UHURU - MWEKA CAMP

You'll wake up around 11:30 p.m. and after some tea and cookies you'll head into the night. You'll head northwest and climb across the big screen to Stella Point on the crater rim. For many climbers, this 6-hour hike to Stella Point is the most mentally and physically challenging of the route. At Stella Point (5685m), you will stop for a short rest and enjoy the most beautiful sunrise you have ever seen (weather permitting). From Stella Point, you'll usually encounter snow during the 2-hour climb to Mount Uhuru. How long you stay at the top will depend on weather conditions. Do not stop here for too long, as it will be extremely difficult to start over due to cold and fatigue. Enjoy your achievement and an unforgettable day for the rest of your life. The hike back to Barafu from the top of the mountain takes about 3 hours. Here you will take a short but well-deserved break and collect the rest of your gear. Mweka DAY 6: MWEKA CAMP - MWEKA GATE - MOSHI

After a well-deserved breakfast, your staff will throw a big party full of dancing and singing. Here in the mountains, you'll present your tips to your guide, assistant guide, chef(s), and porter. After celebrating, you will descend for three hours to reach the Mweka Gate. The park requires all hikers to sign to receive a certificate of completion. Hikers who have reached Stella Point (5685m) will receive a green certificate and hikers who have climbed to Uhuru Peak (5895m) will receive a gold certificate. After receiving the certificate, the hiker will descend to the village of Mweka in 1 hour (3 km). North Circuit is the newest and longest route on Mount Kilimanjaro. It begins on the west side at the Londorossi gate and follows the same path as Lemosho for the first two days. After crossing the Shira Plateau, the road turns north near the Lava Tower, following the longer northern circuit instead of the more common southern circuit through the Barranco Valley.
