Business Development Executive (m/f)

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Business Development Executive (m/f) to join our Customer Acquisition team. The successful applicant will be responsible for driving business success by implementing a strong and sustainable sales strategy while helping the team to turn leads and prospects into paid users.

Oradian provides cloud-based tools for financial inclusion to financial institutions in Africa and Southeast Asia. We are poised to scale operations in the ten countries we currently work in while entering new markets.  

As Oradian is poised to grow its customer base exponentially each year, the Business Development Executive (m/f) will need the experience and enthusiasm necessary to confront the challenges in a highly dynamic and growing team. 

The Business Development Executive (m/f) will preferably be based in Zagreb, Croatia and will travel across the globe 50-75% of their time throughout to handle sales activities hands-on with our customers. For candidates who apply from the Philippines or Africa, there is an option to be based in our Manila, Accra or Lagos office.

Responsibilities: 

  • Understanding the market
    • Deep understanding of market to identify sales opportunities. Creating leads and understand customer needs
    • Immerse yourself in fintech, using appropriate research tools to identify, contact and sell to leading players that meet qualifying criteria
    • Engage in industry groups and events within the geographic territory to promote Oradian and Instafin and identify new opportunities
    • Keep up to date with trends and the latest technology to act as a valued resource for prospects and customers
    • Articulate Oradian’s value proposition to senior executives at financial institutions to assess buying interest
  • Sales and Revenue
    • Develop sales strategies to deliver the business plan
    • Optimise sales activities to maximise Oradian’s growth
    • Manage all aspects of sales within the assigned territory including; prospecting, activity tracking, opportunity management, forecasting revenue, contract management and closing deals
    • Generate new, qualified opportunities to maintain appropriate pipeline 
    • Meet and exceed set revenue target
    • Utilise the consultative sales model to understand the objectives and needs of customers to develop solutions through Oradian’s offerings and additional services
  • Other
    • Provide accurate sales reports
    • Optimise the sales experience in Pipedrive
    • Report to Head of Customer Acquisition and work closely with Sales Operations

Qualifications and experience :

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in at least one (preferably both) of: 
    • SaaS businesses
    • Microfinance and financial inclusion
    • In-depth B2B knowledge of frontier markets
  • Experience in banking, fintech or financial inclusion is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA is valued
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Manager, Senior Sales Executive or similar role

  • Proven experience and track record in solution selling, driving the sales process from plan to close
  • Achieving growth and hitting sales targets by successfully working independently and collaboratively
  • Building and promoting strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Identifying emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Endless curiosity and a need to dive deeper for understanding
  • The desire and capacity to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in English
