Business Development Manager - Corporate ( BT)

London & Partners is the official promotional company for London. We promote London and attract businesses, events, congresses, students and visitors to the capital. Our aims are to build London’s international reputation and to attract investment and visitor spend, which create jobs and growth.

It is our privilege to promote London around the world, working in partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA), UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), VisitBritain and other destination marketing organisations, the London boroughs and many other key stakeholders, as well as our 1,000-plus private sector partners.

Our target audiences are leisure and business tourists, the travel trade, event organisers, overseas businesses and investors, and prospective higher education students. Our marketing and promotional activities are designed to encourage visits, investments and spend in London now, as well as building London’s reputation to support its long term success. Our mission is to tell London's story brilliantly.

We are a not-for-profit public private partnership, funded by the Mayor of London and our network of commercial partners.

Key Tasks

  • Account managing new enquiries by telephone, email and via the website
  • Establishing alignment between the client’s needs and our services then preparing proposals and solutions (for RFPs)
  • Establishing business development opportunities from existing clients and account managing those opportunities through to actual business.
  • Account managing the client to conversion, including site inspection facilitation/visits as required
  • Managing the whole sales lifecycle and liaising with other internal teams as required to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining the CRM account management system with regards to accuracy of data
  • Data analysis of clients for partners.
  • Attending trade shows such as Imex and familiarisation trips as required
  • Visiting a minimum of 4 partner venues sites per week to increase venue knowledge
  • Organising partner presentations in the London & Partners offices as required
  • Contributing to commercial revenue targets
  • Other general administrative duties to maintain the smooth running of the department
  • Collaboration with marketing

You'll Have:

  • Knowledge of the London venue/hotel product and market
  • A general  understanding of the principles of the Data Protection Act (DPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Qulification in relevant subject (desirable)
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office products Word and Excel
  • Second language, French ( desirable)
  • Significant event department experience in either a hotel or venue, or both
  • Working knowledge of budgets/financial targets
  • Experience of working with an Account Management System
  • Experience of managing complex multi-stakeholder activity
  • Outstanding communication skills, with a track record of communicating complex information to a variety of audiences in an engaging way
