Data Engineer

MindGeek is looking for a Data Engineer to join a team of experts overseeing the development of a new data centric project that will overcome a large volume of mission-critical data.

You will be thriving in a team that conceptualizes, designs, implements, and optimizes data to build insight that would be use as concrete metrics on new business centric initiative.

You will be also curating our collective success by applying your knowledge of high-performance techniques, coaching, and collaboration strategies to enhance the expertise in data engineering and information management of the team. All this – in context of high traffic, high load, and high availability.

You are an ideal candidate if you are:

• An expert in data handling approaches and technologies with good understanding of system development lifecycles
• Able to analyze, conceptualize, build, and optimize complex data systems
• Versed with both relational and noSQL databases, with passion for big data.
• Knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, MSSQL), Vertica is a plus.
• Knowledge of NoSQL (Elasticsearch, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, Etc.)
• Experienced with Big Data, data streaming and pipelining, and ETL approaches. Kafka, Samza, Spark, Flink, Hadoop.
• Experience in Data Lake architecture (Hive, or Cloud base alternative)
• Battle-tested in similar role for at least 3 years.
