Job Description
From the beginning of your journey with us you will:
- Design new features and content for world class mobile games
- Work on game systems, social features, monetization, and much more
- Design and balance characters, quest progressions, and events
- Champion your designs from initial pitch through implementation, launch, and evolution
- Work closely with artists, programmers, and QA to implement designs and hit targets
- Use playtests, player feedback, and metrics to gain insights and refine your designs
- Analyze competitive games to be an expert in the audience and market
- Pitch creative new game ideas for upcoming projects
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Passion for mobile free-to-play games
- 3+ years of experience as a game designer at a mobile game company, or equivalent background
- A post-secondary degree or certificate in a game design related field, or equivalent background
- Expert knowledge of free-to-play game design fundamentals
- Confidence and ability to communicate through verbal, written, and visual means
- Solid understanding of game metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new tools
- Ability to quickly adapt in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, and creative environment
- Aptitude for working under pressure and hitting tight deadlines
- Collaborative spirit and love of teamwork
- Creative imagination and ability to think outside the box
As bonus we’ll also consider:
- Practical experience working on a game from initial pitch through launch and beyond
- Experience working with an established game engine, such as Unity
- Demonstrated passion for game design shown through personal game projects
- Expert knowledge of spreadsheets tools, image editors, and flowchart software
