Job Description
As a Lead Marketing Artist at Gameloft Toronto, you’ll be working with some of the best talents in the world from hit games and franchises including Disney Magic Kingdoms and Uno and Friends, which were created in this studio
From the beginning of your journey with us you will:
- Supervise and have ownership over the execution of all art related marketing tasks within the art department based on creative briefs, PMM(s) feedback, market research, benchmarks, polls and consumer studies.
- Take full ownership of your tasks, including but not limited to:
- Creating initial layouts based on creative briefs following update specific themes and guidelines set by the PMM(s).
- Supporting the PMM(s) in the creation of a game brand/identity: title, packaging/key art and storytelling around the game’s scenario and characters.
- Collaborating with the PMM(s) in planning and coordinating all art related marketing tasks for a game update.
- Mentor and train marketing artists, help evaluate present employees by providing feedback for their performance reviews and participating in interviews of potential employees.
- Provide updates on the team’s progress to the Lead Artist, the Art Director and the Producer(s) and PMM(s) through regular meetings, emails and reports.
- Supervise the testing and fixing of marketing assets in the build.
- Supervise your team’s Jira tasks and the timely committing of their work files.
- Learn and apply artistic/IP/licensing guidelines.
- Execute clients (licensor/lead/supervisor) revisions on spec and on time.
- Playtest and be familiar with the game.
- Proactively communicate and coordinate tasks with the team members before and after you in the content pipeline (in person/chat/email).
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have:
- The ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in illustration, digital painting, 2D production art and is capable of delivery exceptionally polished key art using traditional 2D rendering techniques.
- Up to date portfolio demonstrating expert knowledge of composition, posing, rendering, perspective and anatomy with a focus on polished execution and traditional 2D rendering techniques.
- 6+ years as a 2D production artist and 2+ years of experience in a supervising role.
