Senior Sales Engineer

Liferay

Team

We’re a distributed and collaborative sales and channels team, and believe there are no boundaries between customer service and technical sales, engineering and storytelling, closing and consulting. We work independently but support our sales and channels teams in any and every way. We tout the benefits of the Liferay partner program and provide partners with ongoing and iterative training and enablement geared toward subject matter expertise and improving the customer experience. Our goal is to onboard and enable partners to raise revenue by improving product demonstrations, creating and sharing new sales collateral, and evangelizing Liferay and its technology as we listen to customers share their experiences and digital transformation endeavors.


Role

Sales Engineers are both highly technical and laser-focused on business solutions, and knows how to help prospective partners decide that joining the Liferay partner ecosystem will be a successful business strategy. The Senior SE is well-versed in sales messaging and can talk to senior to C-level stakeholders about Liferay’s value proposition with credibility and sincerity. The Senior Sales Engineer is the technical expert for and an effective mentor in: solution architecture, development best practices, identity management, integration points, UI/UX, system administration, mobile strategy, content management, web analytics, DevOps best practices, high availability & clustering, cloud infrastructure, and all key features of Liferay DXP and the Liferay suite of products. Senior Sales Engineers provide thorough technical justification and business consultation, and are trusted advisors to technology directors, CTOs, and software architects as they go through the buyer journey. The Senior Sales Engineer uses their technical expertise, combining it with their sales acumen and strategic account planning to producing sales tactics, demos that address customer use cases, and consultation. Senior SEs accumulate knowledge and serve as a resource and escalation path for partners and other Sales Engineers navigating through their account work.


In addition to the responsibilities of a mid-level Sales Engineer, the Senior Sales Engineer differentiates themselves through success in: 


  1. Consulting prospective partners on the rich benefits of joining the Liferay partner ecosystem
  2. Clearly communicating the strength and value of the Liferay product portfolio to prospective and current partners 
  3. Strategic account work and partner collaboration resulting in new accounts and expansion business
  4. Thought leadership manifested through speaking at events, technical and business whitepapers, blog posts, relevant social media presence, webinars, internal training 
  5. Consistent production and sharing of attractive domain-specific demo solutions with compelling use cases
  6. Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently with partners, sales executives, account managers, and senior leaders across Liferay departments
  7. Prolific collateral production in different channels and media visible within the Liferay organization and the public  (e.g., solution architecture diagrams, competitive feature analysis, industry and domain-specific trends in relation to Liferay products
