What You will be doing:
We decided from the beginning to avoid relying on third parties like AWS and instead, operate our own hardware from datacenters in Switzerland. Despite the extra work, managing our own servers and network gives us more control of the critical core that powers all of our services.
You will join our team to improve and operate our technical infrastructure. This requires working on shifts as well as during emergencies. You should have experience designing and running web-scale, distributed, and highly available systems.
What You will do:
- Work with networking and Internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, SMTP, HTTP) on Linux servers
- Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot systems and services
- Understand and write software to improve automation and site reliability
- Participate in rotating on-call duties in a global, 24x7x365, team
Preferred Qualification:
- Operated email services (Postfix, anti-spam, anti-virus)
- Operated massive data storage (Sharded MySQL, Ceph)
- Used automation tools and containers
- Software engineering experience
- Good understanding of security best practices
