Telenor Procurement Company (TPC), established in 2017 and headquartered in Singapore, operates as a subsidiary of the Telenor Group.  TPC will deliver Global Category Management as a service to the Telenor Business Units, taking full accountability for the end-to-end sourcing process and performance of global spend categories.

TPC aims to be an enabler for this transformation, by becoming a center of expertise and a business partner, in the pursuit of efficient operations. About the role

As a Tactical Sourcing Specialist you will be part of the Tactical Sourcing team where you will report to the Head of Tactical Sourcing within the Telenor Procurement Company (TPC).

The objective of this position is to leverage the purchasing power of Telenor and to achieve the set performance targets for the categories in scope as action with category managers.

The role holder will support the Head of Tactical Sourcing establishing sourcing strategies in cooperation with the relevant Category manager(s). As a Tactical Sourcing Specialist you will be working intimately with Category managers in sourcing projects and will execute on the strategy set to address the execution of each type of activity in a lean and optimal way for the TPC. Execution of each of these strategy work streams will be conducted in partnership with the Category managers and whereas as the Tactical Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for;

  • Executing on tactical sourcing activities for the TPC such as, e-auctions, simplified RFQs and route needs to existing contracts
  • Support the different Category Managers in various sourcing activities
  • Act as a link between local Purchasing Hubs (established in all Telenor Business Units in order to handle local tactical and transactional Sourcing) and the TPC related to needs applied to global contracts
  • To some extent, operationally manage invoices not matched with Purchase Orders



Main tasks

  • Execute on activities delegated by the Sourcing category management team such as, e-auctions, simplified RFQs, re-negotiations / extensions
  • Build knowledge related to existing contracts in the TPC
  • Build competence related to P2P platform and act as a Subject Matter Expert for e-auctions and simplified RFQ
  • Challenge status quo and develop new ways of work to support the transformational journey
  • Contribute to the development of Global Sourcing into a true business partner
  • Identify and facilitate analytical capability building activities
  • To assist in catalogues development and management for P2P systems
  • To work with P2P team in all operational support needed
  • Assist in contract handling and management of contracts

The successful candidate should have basic knowledge of appropriate commercial models and approaches/techniques necessary to achieve best results for the TPC and shall as well understand various commercial value drivers combined with knowledge of current industry practices.
