Edinburgh Airport (Scottish Gaelic: Port-adhair Dhùn Èideann) is an airport located at Ingliston in the City of Edinburgh, Scotland. It was the busiest airport in Scotland in 2015, handling just over 11.1 million passengers in that year, an increase of 9.4% on 2014. It was also the sixth busiest airport in the UK by total passengers as of 2015. It is located 5 nautical miles (9.3 km; 5.8 mi) west of the city centre and is situated just off the M8 motorway. It is owned and operated by Global Infrastructure Partners, which also owns and operates Gatwick Airport and London City Airport. The airport features two runways and one passenger terminal, and employs about 2,500 people.
